The photographic exhibition of the Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria was organised by the Gran Canaria Tourist Board in collaboration with the Region of Tuscany, the Municipality of Florence, and Toscana Promozione Turistica.
The St. James Path of Gran Canaria is a hidden gem of the island that remains largely unknown to the general public. This captivating journey spans centuries of spirituality, transforming from an ancient Christian pilgrimage into a contemporary path of personal growth. Today, it is a route brimming with challenges and discoveries.
Stretching 67 km from the south to the northwest of the island, this unique path leads to the only Jacobean site outside continental Europe. Known as a “miniature continent,” Gran Canaria offers a diverse landscape for this official Way of St. James, recognized by the Church through a perpetual bull granted by John Paul II in 1992. The Camino de Santiago de Gran Canaria is a singular blend of nature and spirituality.
The exhibition was showcased in Florence at the Biblioteca delle Oblate in July 2024.
